VCCV ED, Lauren Pelleymounter Wins Governor's Award

Lauren Pelleymounter, Executive Director of the Volunteer Center of Cedar Valley was honored as an individual winner of a 2009 Governor’s Volunteer Award. She was honored with over 200 individual volunteers and over 70 volunteer groups at the award ceremony held June 19 at Linn-Mar High School in Marion.

Lauren was one of the winners in the Disaster Assistance and Recovery category and was nominated by the Hawkeye Area Agency on Aging for spending over 23,000 hours matching volunteers with much needed opportunities during and after the flood of 2008.

“It is such an honor to be recognized and receive this award. I will forever be grateful for the kind outpouring of support I have witnessed throughout this recovery process. It is a long road, but by working together, we will succeed.”
