MLK Day in Review

The Volunteer Center of Cedar Valley, Student Involvement & Activities Center and the American Democracy Project invited University of Northern Iowa students, faculty and staff to participate in a Day of Service volunteer event on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. On January 18, 2010, 40 students, faculty and staff had the opportunity to volunteer in the Cedar Valley.
 
Participants volunteered their time at one of three nonprofit organizations: Catholic Worker House, Northeast Iowa Food Bank or Exceptional Persons, Inc. Students registered at Maucker Union at 11:00 a.m. and held a wrap-up discussion at the volunteer sites before 4:30 p.m.
