How do businesses and volunteer centers work together?

The Volunteer Center of Cedar Valley serves as local leadership and resource organization for volunteering. We work with businesses in three key ways:

Connect employees to the community and opportunities to serve

• Provide companies with information on community needs.
• Coordinate group projects for, and with, businesses.
• Match employees with individual volunteer opportunities.

Provide training and technical assistance

• Advise businesses on how to establish employee volunteer programs
• Provide businesses with training and technical assistance on managing their employee volunteer programs.
• Manage the businesses employee volunteer programs on a contractual basis.
• Provide placement for employees to serve on local non-profit boards.
• Provide volunteer trainings/workshops for employees.

Partner with businesses in promotional efforts

• Promote businesses’ volunteer efforts in the community.
• Establish partnerships to fund/sponsor Volunteer Center promotional efforts.
• Partner to support award/recognition programs.
